UNITING GAMERS THROUGH CHARITY
Founded in 2011, we are a community of gamers who believe that our passion for the nerdy things we love can be harnessed for a greater good.
We aim to bring gamers together not only in the name of fun, but also in the name of raising awareness and support for worthy, charitable causes, and to build friendships across the many walks of life present in the gaming community.
SIDEQUEST COMMUNITY WEEKEND
Originally born from the Rooster Teeth fan community, we are perhaps best known for our SideQuest Community Weekend (formerly called RTX SideQuest), a series of meetups and parties held before, during, and after RTX in Austin, TX. Since the first RTX in 2011, SideQuest has organized safe, inclusive, unforgettable events for community members to connect with one another outside the hustle and bustle of the RTX convention.
SideQuest hosts gaming-themed events to raise money for our partner charities, including Extra Life, Child’s Play, Make-A-Wish of Central and South Texas, and Stack-Up.org. When possible, we are proud to participate in larger-scale fundraising events and campaigns. For the solo gamer (or small group of gamers) who wants to dive into the world of charitable giving but has a hard time deciding who to support or who to team up with, SideQuest offers the opportunity to join an established fundraising team of like-minded gamers looking to do good while doing what we love.
CONNECTING VOLUNTEERS WITH CHARITIES IN NEED
In addition to raising money for our partner charities, we mobilize our community members to act as reinforcements to groups who might need a boost in manpower. Whether it’s working a convention booth, volunteering at a community event, or licking envelopes for thank-you cards, we stand ready to assist when the call goes out. We continue to foster our relationships with other like-minded nonprofits in the Austin area, and if you’d like to team up, please let us know!
